Common queries

How long does a session last and how many will I need to attend?
A standard session lasts for 50 minutes. The number of sessions required will depend on your unique situation. Some issues may take only a few sessions while others may require a series.

We are interested in helping you achieve well-being and life satisfaction, not just helping you through a difficult emotional time. So the more sessions we have to work with, the more goals we can strive to help you attain. Some people choose a finite period of therapy and others prefer an ongoing mentoring approach and may come and go as needed.

Do I need a referral?
You don’t need a referral to book a session at Cloudberry Clinic (unless you wish to be eligible for a Medicare rebate).

Can I claim consultations with Medicare?
Your GP can determine if you are eligible for services that are funded by Medicare and will provide you with a referral or Mental Health Care Plan to access the appropriate rebate.

Can I claim through my private health fund?
Depending on your provider and level of cover, you may be able to claim. However, you can’t claim from Medicare and your health fund for the same session.

What are the payment options?
Payment is accepted at the time of consultation by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX). Medicare claims can be made on the spot if you have an account registered with Medicare. Alternatively, we can provide you with a receipt for private health fund claims.

Do I attend the sessions by myself?
You may choose to attend your initial session alone or with your partner, support person, or infant.

If I bring my baby, what do I need to know ?
Given that it can be a challenge sometimes to get to appointments with a young baby or toddler, we offer the choice of video, phone or face-to-face sessions. If you choose to bring your baby to a face-to-face session, we suggest that babies are brought in either a car capsule or in a pouch if possible for ease of climbing the stairs. We provide a baby chair, thick change mat and baby gym for your baby's comfort, or you are welcome to cradle your baby in arms on the couch. You can feed, settle, walk around, whatever you need during the session. If asked, we are happy to assist in any way that you find helpful.

Do you have testimonials?
While we have frequent positive reviews, our governing body (AHPRA) states that we are prohibited from displaying these on our website. We do however encourage your feedback, both positive and constructive.

What is the meaning of Cloudberry?
A cloudberry is a small nordic berry with an extensive root system. It is a lovely symbol for the support network needed by a woman during her different stages of life. The multiple berry drupletes resemble how many roles we all manage on a daily basis, balanced impressively on a thin but sturdy stem.
